|Dibble Country House is perfectly situated for exploring West Cork, just 15 minutes drive from Kinsale, the gourmet capital of Ireland and a pretty fishing village.
The former Rectory was built in 1690. The lovingly tended gardens provide a delightful retreat for guests, fresh produce for the dinner table and views over the church and steeple in Ballinadee village to the woods and hills beyond.
There are many Historic sites to see and miles of scenic country lanes to explore. The bustling market town of Bandon is just a 10 minute drive. There are eight 18 hole golf courses within 45 minutes drive. River fishing is available on the river Bandon and sea angling can be arranged at the Old Head of Kinsale or in Kinsale itself. Sailing, windsurfing and canoeing are also available in Kinsale and at Garrettstown beach. Cork Airport is just a 30 minute drive away
Accommodation: There are six en suite bedrooms in Dibble Country House on three floors with a total sleeping capacity of 13.
The usual option is for people to take four rooms on two floors sleeping 10.
The three on the top floor have colour themes. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and crisp white bed linen and towels. Two bedrooms have a double bed and a single bed, three are doubles and there is also a single room.
Having six en-suite bedrooms and the possibility of using two lovely adjacent apartments it is ideal for sleeping groups of 4 to 23 people.
There is a large drawing room with bay window and open fire, an interesting selection of books are scattered about to make this the ideal spot to relax in after a days touring. The dining room is ideal for interesting conversation as guests dine together in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
The house can be let in its entirity with two options:
6 bedrooms ensuite, 2 reception rooms, one with open fire, 2 kitchens & 1 kids playroom Or
4 bedrooms ensuite, 2 reception rooms, one with open fire & 1 galley kitchen
Guest House Apartments :
The apartments are in the converted stone guest house. This building was originally two stables and tack room with garaging for two coaches. It was renovated in 1991 to make two apartments which both sleep 5 people.
Both apartments have gas central heating and colour TV. Electricity, gas and telephone are separately metered and are charged extra. Towels and linen are provided free of charge. There is a private patio area for each apartment with garden table and chairs and a gas barbecue which is shared by all apartments. Cots are available free on request.
The Apartment is reached by traditional stone steps and is on the first floor. It has one triple bedroom with both double and single beds and a shower-room en suite. The pine ceilings give a cosy feel to this apartment. The combined living & dining room has a three piece suite and a double bed-settee, as well as a dining area for five people. There is a separate shower-room just off the entrance hall. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and electric cooker, coffee maker etc
This Apartment has two bedrooms. One has both double and single beds and shower-room en suite, and one has two single beds and shower-room en suite. The living & dining area is decorated in a country cottage style and the separate kitchen is equipped in the same way as the loft apartment.
